Cool Earth sponsor system goes live

A major upgrade to the Cool Earth Action website http://www.coolearth.org went through without a hitch in November 2007, just in time for the launch of the Co-operative Bank think credit card. The Co-operative Bank and Cool Earth are working together to halt climate change by protecting vulnerable rainforest in South America. Every time a think credit card customer makes their first purchase, the Co-operative Bank sponsor Cool Earth Action to protect another 1/2 acre.

The system required substantial modifications to the ecommerce engine at the heart of the Cool Earth website so the transition from the development system to the live system needed careful planning. Downtime was minimised and actually came in at less than half the time estimated.

Sponsor interest in Cool Earth since the launch has been substantial so the new feature was a timely introduction.
