altcom has recently completed a new Funding module for the creating:excellence regeneration and renewal website. The new module allows registered users in the SW voluntary and community regeneration sector to search for sources of funds and funding advice.
The application is hosted on a web server and allows remote users to log in and construct complex or simple or searches using an easy to use web form interface. The results of searches show details such as contact information, geographical coverage, network membership and advice about how to approach each organisation.
altcom added a special feature to help the client administer the database. A "mask" system was implemented to allow the administrator to hide or reveal each of the fields in the search results. For example, a few of the records contain information that requires checking and revision; these can be hidden until the client has tidied up the data and then revealed without the need for any additional programming effort.
The database currently holds details of over 550 funders and 90 funding advisors.
